The Bleeding Carrot is a juice bar and eatery located in the heart of Owen Sound, Ontario. They serve fresh juices, smoothies, coffee, baked goods and vegetarian food. You can drop by for breakfast, lunch, hot beverages and yummy bakes six days a week.


Another wonderful feature of The Bleeding Carrot are the local food products they are now stocking their shelves with. Wholesome foods such as jams, chutneys, salsa, pickles etc which are being homemade in small batches by local foodies, are now on sale for the discriminating customer. Many of the products are organic and use locally grown fruits and vegetables.


The Bleeding Carrot opened its doors on October 9th, 2012. Its hours of operation are:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm
  • Saturday 10am to 4pm

Walk-ins are welcome. It has about 5-6 tables which seat 4 per table so there is plenty of eat-in and take out. The wi-fi is FREE and you can pay with cash, visa, mastercard or direct debit.



The Bleeding Carrot is managed by Jim Ansell who takes tremendous pride in fostering Owen Sound's downtown community spirit. He makes sure that all the food and drinks serves are with the best ingredients for healthy living.




In addition to serving delicious edibles at The Bleeding Carrot, Jim and his team are making the venue a regular concert event location. To date, The Bleeding Carrot has participated in the Mudtown Festival, Lupercalia and hosted a number of local live performers including My Shotgun Wedding, The Undesirables, Suzie Vinnick, Annabelle Chvostek, Larry Jensen to name a few.
