The Coach Inn is Owen Sound’s oldest and most storied watering hole. Home of Jason's Pub and The Darkside. It is open 7 days a week from 11am to 2am with live music entertainment every weekend.






Undoubtedly Owen Sound’s oldest and most storied watering hole, the former Seldon House hotel has seen over a century of patrons pass through its doors. "The Coach", "Jason’s", or "The Darkside" to locals, The Coach Inn and its saloon serves up the best in blues, rock, and country every weekend, along with a host of regular characters.


The Coach Inn's History


The Coach Inn was constructed as the Seldon Hotel in 1887 by William Henry Seldon. The hotel once operated wtih 44 rooms, three parlours, a reading room, bar, dining room and commercial sample rooms. The distinctive triangular building is located at one of the busiest intersections in the city on the north-east corner of 2nd Avenue East (main street) and 10th Avenue East, just a block from the harbour.

Today The Coach Inn presents a bar with pool tables and juke box, on one side of the establishment and the live venue known as The Dark Side on the other. The Dark Side is one of Owen Sounds best live music locales with musicians hitting the stage every weekend to an enthusiastic and faithful rock & roll crowd. It's rustic. It's vintage. It's historic.
